At a young age I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and experienced debilitating panic attacks that had me barely managing through high school. I spent my adolescence and twenties going round in a cycle of ’pushing through’ and then burning out until I was unable to leave the house for months on end due to crippling anxiety. This led to bouts of severe depression and suicidal thoughts. I couldn't understand why I was like this. I tried the familiar path of talk therapy and medication but still felt stuck and unable to move forward. I didn't know how to help myself and I didn't want to keep going in circles on this miserable merry-go-round.
Being given labels and told that there was nothing I could do about it left me feeling helpless. After years of chronic stress, anxiety and some traumatic life events, my body hit a breaking point and I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome/M.E, as well as adrenal fatigue, mould illness and gut dysbiosis. My body was overburdened, inflamed and unable to function. I slowly lost my ability to work, drive, socialise, walk and even look after myself. At my worst I was left bed bound, which ended up being a turning point for me.
I could allow myself to sink further into illness, disempowerment and despair, or I could lean into my feelings deep down: where I knew healing and recovery was possible for me. I knew I was meant for more. I pursued holistic healing modalities and began to understand the intricate link between the mind and body, no system works alone. On my path to wellness I discovered breathwork and was blown away by how much of a positive impact it had on my body.
The intensity of my symptoms decreased. I was able to start moving my body again and felt my energy slowly start to increase. I became fascinated by how something as simple as breathing could affect me so positively. Aside from the physical benefits, breathwork helped restore a sense of safety in my body - something I had never felt before. Chronic anxiety and depression began to dissipate. In addition, somatic parts work helped me understand all the ways my subconscious was trying to keep me safe and how it manifested physically and through my beliefs and behaviours. I finally felt like I had come home to myself, discovering the authentic me that had been buried under years of pain, illness and conditioning. I had learned how to became my own healer and take back my power; I was no longer a prisoner to the past.
You are not broken and you do not need fixing.
Healing is not about striving for a perfect, most loveable version of yourself; it's about creating awareness, compassion and acceptance for ALL parts of you.
My role is to help you bridge the gap between mind and body to create a deeper understanding of self and restore safety within.
Our unique life experiences and traumas shape our beliefs, behaviours and biology. When we haven’t received the support and safety that is needed to navigate the challenges we experience, we tend to shut down our emotional and physical responses.
This leads us to repress, push down, and disown the parts of us we deem ‘unacceptable,’ thus internalising the shame of who we are and what makes us human.
Through this fragmenting of the self, we become disconnected from ourselves and our bodies which can lead to burn out, anxiety, depression, chronic illness and pain.
When we begin to embark on our individual healing journey we can be so focused on ‘fixing’ ourselves that we are operating from a place of shame and fear without even realising, wondering why we seem stuck or feel like we are going backwards.
My intention as a coach is to help bring awareness and compassion to the subconscious parts of you that are keeping you from moving forward, and understanding how they impact your mindset and nervous system.
My role is to help you bring the mind and body back into harmony and instil a greater sense of wholeness.

You may have heard the expression ‘you have to feel it to heal it’ which is true, but this can seem like an impossible task when you’ve spent years being cut off from your body and emotions, or in a state over hyper vigilance, analysing every little twinge, ache and feeling.
We spend time ruminating and intellectualising our feelings rather than actually feeling them. It takes time to tune into your body and learn its unique language, and often we need a little guidance with this in the beginning. Your body is not the enemy, in fact, everything it does is out of protection to keep you safe. When you begin to understand the language of your body you can learn how best to honour your emotional, physical and energetic needs.

The mind and body are constantly connected and in communication with each other at all times via our nervous system and our life experiences shape this system. When we have not been able to adequately discharge our energy through emotional expression from traumatic or stressful events we can become stuck in survival mode, frozen in time. This creates very real and at times debilitating physical symptoms and reactions. Our internal window of tolerance becomes smaller, life and what it brings our way feels overwhelming. We find ourselves fluctuating between hyperarousal (fight/flight) or hypoarousal (freeze/fawn/shut down) states. The goal of regulating your nervous system is not to feel relaxed all the time but to efficiently move in and out of these states, return to your baseline, and expand your window of tolerance so you feel a greater level of resilience within.
